Guide for parents
Sign in to the parent portal on a computer or a phone, switch between your children, follow their attendance, assignments and published results, and see what is owed in fees.
Who this guide is for
You are the parent or guardian of a pupil at the school. The parent portal shows you your own children only, never anyone else's. It works on a computer and on a phone; where the two differ, the steps say so.
Before you start
Your school gives you your login.
Open your school's address and add
/app/login, or follow the sign-in link your school gave you. The sign-in page shows your school's name.Enter your Email address and Password, and select Sign In. You arrive on your home page in the parent portal.
If you would rather not use a password, select Sign in with a one-time code on the sign-in page. A code is sent to your email address, and you type it in to sign in. If you forget your password, select Forgot password?, enter your email and select Send reset code, then type the code from the email and choose a new password.
Find your way around
On a computer:
Use the menu on the left: Dashboard (your home page), Results, Fees, Attendance and Assignments.
Help, at the bottom of the menu, has the help videos.
At the top of the screen, EN and FR switch between English and French, and the sun or moon button switches between light and dark. The app follows your device's light or dark setting until you choose otherwise.
Your picture or initials at the top right opens a menu with Profile and Sign out.
Use it on your phone
You do not need to download anything: the portal runs in your phone's web browser.
In the phone's browser, open your school's address with
/app/loginadded, and sign in.If the phone offers to install your school's app, select Install app. On an iPhone or iPad, the offer says how: tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. From then on, open it from your home screen like any other app. Select Not now if you do not want it; the offer is not repeated.
Use the bar at the bottom of the screen: Today (your home page), Results, Fees and Attendance.
Select More for Assignments, and for Appearance (System, Light or Dark), Language (English or Français) and Sign out. Your name at the top of More opens your profile.
When a new version of the app is ready, a message says A new version is available. Select Reload.
Change your name, phone or photo
Select your picture or initials at the top right, then Profile. On a phone, select More, then your name at the top.
Change your First name, Last name or Phone number, and select Save changes.
To add a photo, select Add a photo (or Change photo) and choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image of up to 3 MB. Remove photo takes it off.
Your email address and password are how you sign in, so they are not changed on this page. Under Email and password, Change password opens the page where you set a new one. To change the email address you sign in with, contact the school office.
Your home page
Your home page greets you with Welcome back and your name.
If you have more than one child at the school, a button for each child appears under the greeting. Select a child's name to switch the page to them.
Read This Week: a dot for each day, coloured by what the class register recorded: Present, Absent, Late or Excused. A grey dot means no register was taken that day.
Read Latest result: the average, position in class and number of subjects from the most recent published term. Select View to open the report card. If the school has not published any results yet, it says so.
Check Outstanding, what is still to pay (see See what is owed below), and select View fees to see the invoices. When nothing is owed it says All clear!.
Look at Upcoming Events: the events the school has published.
See your child's results
Select Results in the menu or the tab bar, or View on the latest result.
If you have more than one child, choose the child at the top of the page.
Each published term is a card with its average, position and number of subjects. Select a term to open its report card below: marks and grade for each subject, behaviour and skills ratings, attendance and the teachers' remarks. On a phone the report card is laid out to read on the small screen.
Select Download PDF for a copy to keep or print.
If your child's school marks out of 20, each subject total and the average are marks out of 20 to 2 decimals, for example 13.40/20; the test and exam marks beside them are as the teacher entered them.
Results appear only once the school publishes them. If a term is missing, the school has not published it yet.
See your child's attendance
Select Attendance in the menu or the tab bar. The page is headed Your child’s attendance, with the child's name and class under it.
If you have more than one child, choose the child at the top of the page.
The tiles count the days your child was Present, Absent and Late this term, and their attendance Rate.
Below them, Attendance calendar – last 12 weeks shows each school day of the last twelve weeks as a coloured dot. The key above it explains each colour: Present, Absent, Late, Excused, On leave and No register taken.
No register taken means no register was taken that day; it does not count against your child. If nothing has been recorded this term, the page says No attendance has been recorded for this child this term yet. If a day looks wrong, ask the class teacher.
Follow your child's assignments
Select Assignments in the menu (on a phone, More, then Assignments). The page is headed Your child’s assignments, with the child's name and class under it.
If you have more than one child, choose the child at the top of the page.
Each assignment the teacher has published for the class shows its subject, when it is due and where it stands: To do, Past the due date, Handed in, Handed in late, or Marked with the mark.
Select an assignment to read the teacher's Instructions, the answer your child handed in and when, and, once it is marked, the mark and the Teacher's comment.
Select All assignments to go back to the list.
You can read everything here but cannot hand work in: your child hands in their own answers when they sign in.
See what is owed
The Outstanding panel on your home page shows the total fees still owed for the child you have selected:
If there is a balance, it is shown in red.
If nothing is owed, the panel says All clear!.
If the fees could not be loaded, the panel says so instead of showing a figure. Reload the page to try again.
When there is a balance, select View fees beside it, or open Fees in the menu or the tab bar. The Fees page shows the balance for the selected child and lists their invoices with what has been paid and what is left.
If you have more than one child, choose the child at the top of the page.
Each invoice shows its Total, what is Paid and the Balance.
Select Invoice PDF on an invoice, then Download PDF, Print, Share on WhatsApp, or Email to send it to the address the school has for you.
Ask the school's bursar about how the school takes payment. Payments the school records show here, and on the invoice.
Watch the help videos
Open Help videos under HELP. On a phone it is under More.
The videos for you are in three groups: Start here, Every day and Now and then, each with its length.
Select one to play it. Where there is a phone version and a computer version, you can switch between them. A line marked Coming soon is not recorded yet.
Tips and common questions
I cannot see one of my children. Your account is linked to your children by the school. Ask the school to link the missing child to you.
Can other parents see my child? No. Each parent sees only the children linked to their own account.
Why can I not see this term's results? The school has not published them yet. They appear as soon as it does.
I cannot sign in. Select Forgot password? on the sign-in page, or use Sign in with a one-time code.
How do I change the language? On a computer, select EN or FR at the top of the screen. On a phone, select More, then English or Français.
